Questions

Which assistants can use these tools? Assistants that support MCP and can run an MCP server on your computer. The serve command starts each tool’s MCP server.

Can I use them without AI? Yes, they're ordinary command-line programs. Add --json for output that’s easy to process in a script or another program.

Where are my sign-in details stored? The tools store them on your computer, usually under ~/.config, and send requests directly to each service.

Can my assistant make bookings or place orders? MCP tools are read-only by default. To allow changes, set the tool’s environment variable to 1, for example MAUL_MCP_ENABLE_WRITES=1. Each tool’s details list its variable and available actions.

Do I need Bun or Node.js? Not for the prebuilt binaries downloaded by the install script. Some tools need to be installed from source, and signing in may require extra software. Check each tool’s requirements.

How do I update the tools? Run the install command again. The script downloads the latest release and verifies its checksum before replacing the binary.

Why can’t my assistant find a tool? Desktop apps may use a different search path (PATH) from your shell. Set command to the tool’s full path. Find it with which vedur on macOS or Linux, or (Get-Command vedur).Source on Windows. Replace vedur with the tool’s name.

What if something stops working? The service interfaces these tools use can change. Report the problem on the tool’s GitHub page.
